Yahoo Pipes : Computer Security Mashup

So I created my first Yahoo Pipes which is for the information security world. Here is a description of Yahoo Pipes for those who are unsure what it is:

Pipes is an interactive feed aggregator and manipulator. Using Pipes, you can create feeds that are more powerful, useful and relevant.

Below is the list of feeds this Yahoo Pipe includes:

  • SecurityFocus News
  • Bugtraq
  • Digg / Security
  • Full-Disclosure mailing list
  • Security Bloggers Network
  • Dailydave mailing list
  • Hex Blog
  • Matasano
  • Rootkit.com
  • RSnake : ha.ckers.org
  • Security Fix : Brian Krebs
  • Dark Reading Analysis
  • milw0rm

So this pipe basically this merges all of these feeds and filters out any duplicates, and then publishes them based on the date. Please leave a comment if you would like me to add your RSS feed to this list.  Thanks!
You can run and or subscribe to this Yahoo Pipes here..

Netscape.com is at its worst

I would use Netscape.com all the time back in the day. Its really sad how it has become a clone of Digg, and it just lifeless. The site even has a Microsoft Windows Vista banner ad at the bottom of the site. I remember back when the browser wars were in full effect. Here is a link to the Alexa traffic data so you can see for yourself.

Master Plan - About the power of Google

master plan - about the power of googleMasterPlanTheMovie.com has created a short video regarding the power of Google, and provides information regarding the free services they offer and some possible research around those free services.  It paints a sinister picture of Google’s intension’s and its ability to compromise ones privacy.  The content and theory behind this is very interesting, but I would hope that Google would not do something like this.

You can view the video here. I would be interested to hear other peoples thoughts on this video.

What is Yahoo Pipes?

what is yahoo pipesLooks like Yahoo! is going to be releasing some kind of suggestion board? A user submitted this story to Digg.. Looks like it could be interesting..

Found this mention of Pipes in Yahoo’s suggestions board, but when you follow the link to http://pipes.yahoo.com it asks for username and password for “Early Access”. I can’t find any mention of this service on Google or Yahoo - obviously a closed beta but what’s it about? Any speculation?

Wordtracker’s Free Keyword Research Tool

wordtracker-free-keyword-research-tool Since Overture’s keyword research page has been pretty flaky these past few weeks, just wanted to share this free keyword research tool by Wordtracker that I have been using quite a bit. I have used Wordtracker’s free keyword search tool in the past, and back then it only displayed 15 keywords. Now it offers 100 keywords which you can then digg deeper into your keywords. The quality of results from Wordtracker has always seemed to be much better than Overture’s tool.

If you find the free keyword research tool useful like I do, then you should defiantly consider upgrading to the full version which will help you get more projects done with the best keywords possible!
