Netscape.com is at its worst

I would use Netscape.com all the time back in the day. Its really sad how it has become a clone of Digg, and it just lifeless. The site even has a Microsoft Windows Vista banner ad at the bottom of the site. I remember back when the browser wars were in full effect. Here is a link to the Alexa traffic data so you can see for yourself.

You can trust us, really…

StolenID LogoA Silicon Valley based company named Trusted ID which had launched IDFreeze sometime last year has launched StolenID Search. This site allows you to type in a social security or credit card number into the search box to see if your card or SSN has been compromised. If it turns out your credit card or social security # (SSN) are on the internet, Trusted ID will pitch their IDFreeze product to you to help you get some kind of control over your data. Below is a description from the website:

StolenID Search is a free service that tells you if your personal information has been stolen or compromised. With our easy–to–use search engine, you can search more than two million pieces of compromised personal information—credit card and social security numbers—to see if your information has been misused.

Now if you are putting your info into this site, you deserve to have your data on the internet. How can we be sure that StolenID cannot be hacked, and that data cannot be stolen from them? Now I understand that just by having a SSN or credit card number without all the other information might not do you any good, but still? I’m sure someone out there could use this typo of information to track someone down..

Effects Of Drugs And Alcohol On Spider Webs

In the 1960s, Dr. Peter Witt gave spiders various kinds of drugs and alcohol to observe the effects on their webs. The results were pretty interesting.

Update: Looks like Google deleted this video. Here is a direct link to the video on another site..
